Your Go-To Welcome Bag
Thoughtful, Simple, & On-Brand
One of my favorite details to design for wedding weekends is the guest welcome bag. It’s the first impression your guests have when they arrive — a little moment that says, “We’re so glad you’re here.”
But here’s my take: a welcome bag shouldn’t feel overdone or stuffed full of random things. It should feel personal to you as a couple — thoughtful, simple, and a reflection of your style.
1. Start with what feels like you
I always include something that tells your story. My favorite way to do that is with his and hers candy cubes — a sweet way to share your favorite treats as a couple.
Then, add stickered snack bags for your go-to salty bites. The mix of sweet and salty feels balanced and intentional — and it’s the perfect “grab-and-go” snack for guests to enjoy in their room or on the shuttle.
You can shop the exact cubes and stickers I use here on my Amazon storefront.
2. Think about what guests actually want
When guests arrive after traveling, they appreciate the little things they might not have packed. A few practical and thoughtful touches make a big difference:
Bottled water or electrolyte packets
A small pack of Advil or Tylenol
A travel-size stain remover
Lip balm or mints
A hand wipe or mini sanitizer
A personalized note from the two of you
None of this needs to be complicated — just useful, easy-to-pack items that make your guests feel taken care of.
3. Keep the packaging elevated but effortless
Your packaging doesn’t have to be complicated to look chic. I love using simple gift bags or small boxes in neutral tones. Add a name tag or ribbon that ties into your wedding palette, and it instantly looks elevated.
The goal is for your guests to open it and think, “Of course they thought of this — it’s so them.”
4. Edit, edit, edit
It’s tempting to go overboard — I’ve seen couples try to include everything from champagne to mini games. But truly, less is more. Choose 4–6 items that feel curated and intentional. The welcome bag isn’t about excess; it’s about connection.
5. Make it personal
Maybe you add a local favorite snack from your venue’s region, or a simple note about what the weekend means to you. Small touches go a long way. The best bags feel authentic — not just pretty, but thoughtful.
Final Thoughts
When it comes to welcome bags, think quality over quantity. A few curated, intentional items — especially when personalized to you — make guests feel seen and appreciated.
Keep it simple, keep it stylish, and keep it you.
